Sweet and short, a series of mini-games featuring remakes of classic computer favorites, such as: Galaga, Memory, and Pinball.
Role and responsibilities
In charge of streamlining the team’s effort, achieving milestones ahead of deadlines, conceptualising game ideas, and writing code using Processing, HTML, JS, and physics simulation libraries.
Process
Researching. Study existing games references—create storyboards of our own original concepts—understand motion and physics libraries used for these games.
Prototyping. Divide and delegate the team’s tasks—develop the games—integrate visual semantics, interactivity and gameplay mechanics.
Testing. Test the game on multiple devices to ensure a responsive and seamless experience.
Reflection
Each of these projects involved a two-month-long effort that helped me better understand the usage of libraries in programming. Since the dynamics of these games already exist, my focus was targeted towards creative coding and implementing visual semantics to the mini-games. This series marked my first contact with digital game design.
